Out of control

First I must make a very bold statement: Keep your damn kids and dogs under control!!!! I am tired of going somewhere and either having unruly kids run around bumping into everyone, or being worried because someone brought a borderline aggressive dog to a public event. If you cant control it then LEAVE IT AT HOME!!

Dogs

I am a huge dog lover. I own two dogs myself and I wouldn’t trade them in for anything. I like dogs mainly because they eat cats. J/K people relax. As a dog owner I know there are certain rules and responsibilities I must have for my dog. Keeping them from being a public nuisance is one of the most important responsibilities.

You as a dog owner have no clue as to when something is going to set your dog off. They will attack, maim, or even kill at a moments notice. It is your responsibility as the owner to prevent those types of situations before they happen.

According to www.dogbitelaw.com 4.7 million people a year are reported as being bitten by a dog. 1,008 people per day have to go to the hospital because of dog bite. In more than two-thirds of the cases included in the study, the life-threatening or fatal attack was apparently the first known dangerous behavior by the animal in question. (M. Clifton. 2006)

What does that report mean? Don’t bring your damn dogs to a public event!!

Kids

I have 4 kids ages ranging from 10 to 14. They all know that if we are in public and they act up, I will put the smack down right then. Possibly later they may be grounded as a punishment for their actions. No they are not perfect, that is how they know what happens when they are unruly.

Other people should also adapt some sort of control system on their kids. I have been in stores or out in public events where kids are running amuck. The kids are running, bumping, jumping and grabbing with no apparent signs of the parents around. Do people not realize they can be help legally liable for their kids actions? Do people not realize this is how kids are taken?

According to http://www.klaaskids.org/pg-mc-mcstatistics.htm 36,000 kids a year are kidnapped on an involuntary basis by people they do not know. There are actually three types of classifications for kidnapping, involuntary being the most violent. The other two classifications are by people the kids already knows. With the three classifications combined there are about 2000 kidnappings reported a day. (2008 KlaasKids Foundation For Children)

Resposibility

Take responsibility for your dogs and kids. Make things a little more enjoyable for others to come out in public. No one wants to get in to a fight over either situation. Nor do they want to have to call the police. Be kind to the people around you by taking care of an issue before it becomes an issue

Just an update about what I am talking about. I went to the store tonight for some beverages. As I am trying to get to the drinks there is this 3 yr old opening and closing doors. Pretty much just in the way. The parent, across the store at the check out, not having any clue as to what her kid was doing. This is the stuff that just firs me up..If you are not willing to take care of your kids, then STOP HAVING SEX!!

hi six9k9, great hub, and you are right parents do not watch their kids, nor do they care, that is why so many children are killing each other, their parents, their grandparents, and their teachers.  parents are going to have to get a grip on their kids or things are going to get worse, like you saying about the kid slamming doors in the store, soon if things do not change you will go to say something to the rugrat and it will knife you for correcting it.  i loved the movie Garfield where Odie got that supercharged shock collar, people should apply these to their dogs, and also to all kids, having it installed at the age of 2 and ware it until 21 like a chastity belt.

Hello Roger,

I fully agree about the kids killing each other. I live in an area where gangs are very previlant. They are pretty much turned loose at the age of 10, and either end up in jail by the age of 14. Or dead by the age of 30.

With kids in the store I much rather find the parents and see what they have too say. If nothing else it lets them know that people ARE watching. and their lack of constraint on their kids IS affecting other people.

Maybe we should use shock colars on kids and dogs alike? ha ha ha..

Thanks for your Post.

I see this is my own grandchildren...it breaks my heart...their parents don't have a clue....yet, they get upset with me...when I say something about the kids...my son says he tries to control them...but his wife "doesn't believe in discipline"...well, then I agree that is why kids are killing kids....and their own parents....because they 'WANT THEIR OWN WAY'....have never been told know...!!!I am just furious with what I see.....
